The NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses) is a standardized exam that is used to determine whether or not an individual is qualified to become a licensed registered nurse. The exam is developed and maintained by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) and is designed to test the knowledge, skills, and abilities of entry-level registered nurses.
To be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN, candidates must have completed an accredited nursing program and meet other requirements determined by the state board of nursing in the state where they wish to practice. Once a candidate passes the NCLEX-RN, they will be granted a license to practice as a registered nurse in that state.
